On January 16, 2026, Tronox announced that following a review of their global asset footprint, they intend to permanently close their Tio2 pigment Fuzhou China. This site is currently in an extended, planned shutdown which began on October 1, 2025. The company does not intend to restart the site
The decision to close their Fuzhou site is driven by prolonged market down turn, weak domestic demand, over capacity and unsustainable pricing levels, caused by China's continued capacity expansion.
