According to customs statistics, China imported 5,053.29 tons of titanium dioxide in April 2026, down 23.29% year-on-year and 14.72% month-on-month.Imports of chloride-process titanium dioxide were 2,597.04 tons, and sulfate-process titanium dioxide stood at 2,456.25 tons.
The cumulative import volume from January to April 2026 was about 20,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.67%. Among this total, chloride-process titanium dioxide imports reached 12,759.80 tons, falling 19.32% year-on-year; sulfate-process titanium dioxide imports amounted to 7,862.13 tons, dropping 31.98% year-on-year.
Titanium Dioxide Exports
Customs data indicates that titanium dioxide exports hit around 193,500 tons in April 2026, up 30.73% year-on-year and down 3.98% month-on-month. Sulfate-process titanium dioxide exports were approximately 157,000 tons, rising 0.09% month-on-month, while chloride-process titanium dioxide exports were 42,800 tons, slipping 16.02% month-on-month.
The total export volume from January to April 2026 stood at 730,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.53%. Sulfate-process titanium dioxide exports reached 551,700 tons, growing 5.88% year-on-year. Exports of chloride-process titanium dioxide were roughly 178,600 tons, surging 39.63% compared with the same period last year.
